There are times when students need extra assistance acclimating to the demands of life as a college student. Typically a few weeks into the semester students begin to realize they don’t seem to be able to keep up with their school work as well as other commitments, or they are feeling stressed because of an upcoming test, or they just aren’t able to grasp the material presented in class. These are normal and common responses for first time college students. The good news is that there are things students can do to minimize the stresses and become a better student. Student Services and the Advising Center have teamed up to offer workshops to address some of the most crucial issues that students face today. These workshops include subjects like:
- How to Take Good Notes
- Textbook Navigation (how to get the most out of your textbook)
- Time Management
- Stress Management / Wellness
- Test Taking and Test Anxiety
- Identifying your Learning Styles / Memory
